SURAU DALAM TANDAS?


Sebuah tandas awam untuk kemudahan lelaki, wanita dan golongan kurang upaya (OKU) di Sabindo di Tawau,Sabah, menimbulkan tandatanya orang awam kerana ia turut menempatkan sebuah bilik solat di dalamnya.

Di pintu masuk bangunan itu terdapat papan tanda surau dengan lambang wanita, lelaki dan OKU.

Presiden Majlis Perbandaran Tawau Ismail Mayakob ketika dihubungi Bernama berkata pihaknya akan mengambil tindakan termasuk menutup ruang solat berkenaan jika ia didapati mencemar nama baik Islam.

Namun, katanya, sebelum kemudahan tempat sembahayang itu disediakan, MPT telah meminta pandangan Jabatan Hal Ehwal Agama Islam Negeri Sabah yang tidak membantah, malah ia membantu menetapkan arah kiblatnya.

"Kita akan berjumpa sekali lagi dengan JHEAINS kerana mereka lebih arif," katanya.

Pengerusi Majlis Agama Islam Sabah Datuk Syed Abbas Syed Ali, ketika dihubungi berkata, adalah kurang sesuai bagi bilik sembahyang dibina dalam bangunan tandas.

"Kita akan siasat perkara ini demi kemuliaan Islam," katanya.

Tandas awam berkenaan terletak hanya 500 meter dari Masjid Al-Kauthar, masjid terbesar di Sabah.

BIRTHDAY SPEECH LEAVES ROSMAH IN TEARS


The Prime Minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor could not hold back her tears when a representative of gifted children presented her with a birthday card at the opening of the PERMATApintar Negara Holiday Camp, here Sunday.

Before handing her the greeting card, the student read a short speech for Rosmah, and immediately the Prime Minister's wife was seen wiping her tears, apparently touched by the speech.

The strong motherly instinct in Rosmah was also apparent when she embraced the student and kissed her on the cheek.

Rosmah, who will celebrate her birthday on Thursday (Dec 10), was also presented with a cake which she cut together with several student representatives.

The guests later burst into laughter when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak took a piece of the cake and fed it to his wife after which, Rosmah returned the gesture.

Besides the cake and birthday card, Rosmah, who is the patron of PERMATA Negara, was also presented with a bouquet of flowers.
