E-BOOK TO BE MARKETED OVERSEAS

The e-book reader introduced by the Terengganu government is to be marketed overseas, with 200 sample units already sent to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia, Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said said on Monday.

"The e-book reader we sent to the UAE uses Arabic while Indonesia will order 50,000 units for a start if they regard it as practical," he said when presenting the readers to 1,088 standard five pupils of 12 schools in the Tepoh state constituency at the Gong Badak indoor stadium complex, here.

Ahmad said 50,000 e-book readers would be distributed to pupils in standards three and four in Terengganu with an allocation to be approved by the state assembly next month.
